Movie Review : Aashiqui 2

Everyone including directors were so hyper when this movie came out as the first one is a success. The majority of the reviews I read said this movie isn't as great as the first ones, lack of actings, dialogues and all. The movie songs are such a hit even it's still booming nowadays too but I never get really hooked with the songs until I watched the movie yesterday night on Tv!

Right from the first scene, I got a feeling that I would like the movie. I found the movie is quite enjoyable, heart touching and not boring. It is really simple ordinary movie yet you can feel their feelings; the happiness and the sadness. It is undeniable that drugs and alcohol addiction is an usual issue when you're famous and wealthy!

And in here, you can see on how an awesome singer who's ended up lost himself - his talents and purpose of life because his first love, alcohol. Then, he found the female version of him but who's more eager, talented and can sing his song beautifully with a real feeling.

Aashiqui is a story of two talented singer who ended up become a couple where one of them used to be famous and the other one is a new rising star.  The media look down at the man on how he brought a poor and talented singer, Arohi from singing in a low class bar with no recognition of her amazing vocal into becoming a famous singer. Rahul's temperaments have always gotten in a way and can't be separated from his first and last love, alcohol.

Love the simplicity of the movie, the dialogues, the actings and the songs contained powerful feelings. 9/10 is how I rated this movie and this is a kind of movie you would be wanting to watch again and again and most probably you'll be crying at the same scenes although you've seen it many of times. You would be seeing more of the pains of RJ rather than the happy moments he had been thorough but overall, don't miss for not watching it. Although the media doesn't fond of the movie yet the society loves it =)

Movie Review : The Wolverine

The most awaiting movie in my list, couldn't wait to see and not ended in disappointment. I've always love Wolverine and knowing the story of him more personal excites me. I couldn't think anyone except HUGH JACKMAN who would portray wolverine and he have proven that in every X-MEN movies. 8,5/10 is the rank I give because the cinematography is thumbs up, the introductions of the characters and the acting.

The actions are really good but it should had been less conversations and added more actions. As in fact, from the trailer, everyone would be expecting "full of actions packed and less of dialogues". The actions are really good and so imagined if there are more actions in it, would just be perfect!

Somehow, they should be more focus more toward wolverine himself rather than other character. I mean, all the excitement is more into saving that Japanese most powerful grand-daughter rather than the wolverine showing off his skills. The fighting scenes should be more thrilling.

At some parts, you would feel a bit boring but the movie isn't crap nor alright. The movie has a different touch and for the first movie of the wolverine, it's really good. But I'm expecting more actions and more personal like the very first introduction on how he got those steel claws planted in him. And I'm looking forward for the sequels which I'm pretty sure it'll be full of actions and adventures.

Movie Review : Raanjhanaa

Whether you like Bollywood movies or not, you'll be getting a picture that Bollywood love story is colorful; one moment the movie will make you laugh, then crying. The dancing scenes are often too much, yet if you continue watch the dancing you would ended up liking the songs or at least the village sceneries would blown you away. Expect the unexpected is what this movie staring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor is all about. The movie got a rating of 7.8/19 in IMDB and that's quite high for Bollywood movie. Both of us regretted for not decided to watch the movie in the big screen because this movie would even look more romantic in cinema.

Right from the very first scene until the last, I couldn't get off the smile from my round face. The climax of the movie isn't that wow yet it suits the movie so well. This very simple movie with light dialogue is about a little boy, Kundan, who fall in love at a very young age and never stop loving Zoya eversince. He is quite obsessed with her that he always followed her wherever she goes and tried to get her attentions. They got separated because Zoya's parents against the relationship, so they sent her away and after 8 years, she went back to her village and that's where the story begun.

I (we) never expected the movie would be this great; really sweet movie and romantic of course. Dhanush is amazing in his first (debut) hindi movie and his dances amazed me (he is so light and very energetic)!. His acting is just like Shahrukh Khan's Tamil version; very expressive! But well, he is not a Bollywood heartthrob but surely, he is a talented actor with bright future in Bollywood!  Yes, the story is just like another bollywood romantic movie but the simplicity in the upbringing the movie is just flawless.  Loving blinded the lover that make those whom falling in love would do anything for the sake to make the ones their love happy even by means have to suffer.

Overall, I rated 9.5/10 and would like to watch the movie for many times. And now, I understood why those who have seen this movie would said the movie is beautiful and beyond of your expectation! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :)

Movie Review : D-Day

The first day this movie released in India, we only got great reviews even BIG B really love the movie. We wanted to watch but not that eager but after those positive reviews, we couldn't resisted ourself from watching. My ranking for this movie is 7.5/10 but Mr. Gwumpieh really loves this movie a lot. D-DAY, a story about "indian polices which are somehow be known as Indian terrorists" are an under-cover special force with a mission to arrest the most wanted man in India. The "Goldman" mission is happened at Goldman's son wedding and that's when the story got flashed back. For a person like me with no knowledge of the person of interest's background, then this movie will get you confused for a while. I thought at first, the movie is based on the real story but the truth, the movie is fully modified.

The actings are superfab! The teamwork between Irrfan Khan and Arjun Rampal is just great and looking forward for a movie where both of them against each other or maybe working together! The duration is a way too long that you may get bored and I was expecting lots of actions. The actions are just ordinary; more like a documentary movie kinds; heavy in upbringing but worth to see. Without those great actors, the movie would definitely be just ordinary or perhaps flopped.

I like the movie, could even love it if only the movie only around 1,5 hours not almost 3 hours! It's interesting but if only Goldman's role could be shown and how powerful he is, how much chaos he has caused and why it's hard to catch him, rather than a simple narrating in the beginning. The movie could had been awesome if they show Goldman's power in being the number 1 India's most wanted and in extra efforts the previous police had done until the India's ISI had to do this "missions'. Precisely, more details of the story and less of Wali Khan's and Rudra's personal life as well as more packed actions with more introduction of the villain. Thumbs up for the actings :)

Quick Gateway : Sentul - Part 2

We followed the signs and it led us somewhere far (far) away from the waterfall. We asked the local and luckily there was no traffic, very smooth road. It was my first time driving in up hills with my baby c, so quite an experience it was for me. I have this habit of getting lost each time I drive even to the place I'm familiar with ha-ha-ha! I kept driving until I felt like we're lost but we weren't! But decided to stop and buy banana on the way. I really love banana though so yeah, the yellow attracts my eyes :p!

After 30 minutes of driving, finally we arrived at the waterfall as it's nearby that banana's place (10 minutes away from there). I forgot to take picture of the entrance but it costs 20,000 IDR ($2) per person and 10,000 IDR ($1) for the car. You would also be seeing a simple writing that say "it's under construction" and for a while it made me wonder, how horrible the place would be. But on our way down to the waterfall, we found out some beautiful sceneries and since there are only few people who came so I just stopped the car to capture the beautiful landscape. The place is called "Air Terjun Bidadari atau Curug Bojongkoneng at Sentul Paradise Park.

The roads are still being fixed so I'm suggesting using big car, 4WD would be great but my baby C is more than enough. Despite the road isn't fixed but it's surely worth for the journey. The place may not look good but if you capture them, then you'll see the beauty. Mr. Gwumpieh also doubted my view at first, but well, my photos have proven that despite the place look just alright but I made them look beautiful", right! It took around 5 - 7 minutes to get into the waterfall and don't worry, you won't be walking far neither. It's quite near from the car park to the waterfall entrance. We arrived around 3.30-ish and it wasn't much people there.  If you don't bring your swimsuits, then don't worry, just put your feet in the water and you could feel how relaxing it's. Me and Ika were playing with the water but Mr Gwumpieh is sitting in the rock. The weather is so good, the breezy wind and yes, you'll be very tempted to swim (suggested to :D).

If you read about the place reviews', you would be reading tons of negative sides of this place but we, personally, love this place. Yes, we didn't swim and everything in that place are unorganized. But you never can except to get a good hospitality for this kind of place, so pretty much we found it normal. They are under-construction and apart from that traveling by using sedan isn't the best option neither so as for us, the rocky road didn't bother much as the views are worth it. Personally, you just have to take a look yourself but recommending you not to come on the weekend and bring all the stuff your own. Don't even think about having "picnic" there, just really go there for swimming. Make sure your tummy full and bring your own drink/snacks because it's true about the cafes or small stalls there aren't even opened. but this waterfall worth for a visit if you are going to swim! For people like me who's living in the city lifestyle, i feel refreshed.

30 minutes passed so quick and you feel so fresh! We decided to go right away after numbers of people in group came, missing the peaceful moments. And here are the rest of photos which I captured before we went to Bogor. I didn't take any photos at Bogor since we only came there for opening the fasting. Thank GOD we arrived on time and yes, I was driving quite fast :p!

Finally, I'm also able to capture the beautiful scenery with my baby c and I really love the photo. I wish I could captured more photos since we were in a rush to go back to Bogor. It was really great quick gateway started the journey from 10am and arrived at Jakarta around 8pm. I drove the whole time except on the way back to Jakarta and it was really such good experience! Baby C is definitely suited me a lot, and very comfortable in driving him! Now, I feel like owning 4WD cars ha-ha-ha!

I'm really thankful for given this quick journey as both of us are so much in need for holiday! A Movie didn't help much but this one day trip is surely refreshing. The truth, what made this journey worthwhile is the people. It wasn't the places we chose, but its the feeling we had on that day; the excitements. Even I only had two hours sleeping and yet it was really great for me. I felt so refresh after this trip and looking forward for more "surprising" trips with less planning! Thank the LORD for an awesome day, feeling so blessed and seriously had tons of fun!

Quick Gateway : Sentul - Part 1

I have been trying to write few lines for this post but I couldn't even stayed for more than few seconds. Done with few movies and I remembered the rule of "two minutes" so let's try to focus into simple writings for just TWO minutes. Anyway, the story is my best friend came from Singapore to attend her best friend's wedding, and she got one day free to spend with. There were many places I wanted to bring her but lately, the weather in Jakarta was just being an ass! It could either raining most of the day and night or terribly sunny but thank GOD for this one day "awesome gateway" the weather was so sunny, humid and definitely worth for the journey. Since my driver is on fasting, I decided to drive from Jakarta - Bogor and I was so lucky the traffic was just smooth enough. But knowing I didn't have enough hours to sleep, so I drove slowly (well not too slow but slower than the usual) and definitely was super cranky, talk a lot about some unimportant things that I had no idea what even. Yes, often whenever I'm going for traveling, I wouldn't be able to sleep the day before and usually only slept the maximum of 4 hours only.

(OMG It's more than two minutes and I'm still continue writing). Before we went to Bogor, we stopped first at Sentul for quick food.  Sentul is actually a very small city that is under-developed; the place is still full of trees and lately, they are doing on heavy promotions for this city that they are going to make the city more alive, full of villas and in other way around become the preference of weekend destination. I went there few months back with mom, and really love the place and you can get the feeling of NOT living in the city! I don't know whether it's worth for a visit or not but if you went to the right people, even a simple place would be very entertaining!

Poor mr. Gwumpieh and my driver, they look definitly tired and exhausted and me and ika was so starving. The famous thing about Sentul is this Ah Pong (Floating Market) and the beautiful blue mosque right crossed it. There are few activities you could have done in the weekend because on the weekdays, the market itself is not functional well enough. We were there with no floating market, very sunny weather but their park is really fun to be explored. They have these some scientific games but sadly, some games are either closed or broken. The statues are also look funny and do spend some time to mess around with those games.

One thing that we never thought that we would be spent so much hours at this small city! Sentul is very relaxing than Bogor/Puncak apart from the weather. But hey, our journey didn't stop here. While I was driving and on the way to Bogor by following the signage (getting through small roads), we are lost or maybe not. We saw ( i actually) the sign with the word "Air Terjun" (Waterfall) written and decided to pay a visit for a while before heading to Bogor. Check the PART II version to see more photos which even better than this one :)
