Movie Review : 47 Ronin

We LOVE it! Mr. Gwumpieh didn't expect the movie to be this good, but well, as I saw the reviews from my friends and from IMDB, I won't mind to watch! This maybe my most favorite film of Keanu and gosh, If only, he was the one who did the Last Samurai, how awesome would the movie even be.

Ronin is samurai without a master so does that clear out the whole story? Basically, their master is killed due to one who wanted to take the empire and he was being poisoned by a witch. And these 46 Ronin and that later the outsider is fully considered as a Ronin, did a rebellion one year before their master's daughter wedding. The story is obviously predictable from the first 15 minutes or less, but it's the making of the movie that made it great.

The beautiful sceneries of Japan that we haven't seen or barely seen yet which I thought it's much more beautiful than the Hobbit's settings. Then the ways the movie is directed and narrated is just flawless. The actions are pretty good, just as how I wanted them to be although it could have been added a little more cruelty as you know how fearless samurai's were. But everything is just balanced and it's entertaining enough. It gets you excited and wants to see the fighting scenes more and deeper. 

IMDB rated as 7/10, but I truly enjoyed the movie and won't be mind to watch it again; so I give it 8.5/10. At one moment, you would be distracted by the fights, but the sceneries made you just wanted to go there right at that moment; it's beautifully done. It's been a while since I watched a good action movie especially throughout 2013! So 47 Ronin will be one of my 2013 action's movie favorites.

Movie Review : Dhoom 3

Oups! I forgot to post this movie review after we watched it. Basically, this movie is kind of like, a way too different than how the previous Dhoom movies have been portrayed. Dhoom 3 is focused entirely toward the life of the famous circus's son(s), Sahir, who's Aamir Khan. The story is revolved him, his life, his life's ambitions and destructive plans. It's very entertaining especially when the chasing begun, but doesn't everyone want a lot more of the chasing scenes rather than the story telling about the character's personal life? We are watching Dhoom because we love those moments where the bikers are showing off their talents, just like how Fast & Furious is. At least that's why I watched Dhoom.

Aamir khan's performances is really awesome at least I like him in here and Ghajini a lot. The character fits him perfectly and his outfits are just perfect! But other that, the movie is just a way too ordinary than the others two. The movie is definitely one man show and the cinematography is really good; some scenes are being too exaggerated and Aamir's tap dance is just will be leaving you speechless! 

There's this article about the review which I, totally agree with from India Today . I'll be giving 7.5/10 for it's entertainment, for awesome performance of Aamir Khan but for story line is very weak. It would had been totally flopped if it hadn't been because of Aamir. Weak story, limited actions and as in fact  the police roles in here are shown as very dumb people. It would just be great, if the actions are fully loaded and please don't spoilt the beauty of the story after "intermezzo", it's just you know ufff. I don't say it's crap, but It's an entertaining action movie with an awesome performance of Aamir and BMW Bike that make you just craving for owning it! Even Batman's Bike is seemed crap ha-ha-ha!

Movie Review : Aashiqui 2

Everyone including directors were so hyper when this movie came out as the first one is a success. The majority of the reviews I read said this movie isn't as great as the first ones, lack of actings, dialogues and all. The movie songs are such a hit even it's still booming nowadays too but I never get really hooked with the songs until I watched the movie yesterday night on Tv! 

Right from the first scene, I got a feeling that I would like the movie. I found the movie is quite enjoyable, heart touching and not boring. It is really simple ordinary movie yet you can feel their feelings; the happiness and the sadness. It is undeniable that drugs and alcohol addiction is an usual issue when you're famous and wealthy!

And in here, you can see on how an awesome singer who's ended up lost himself - his talents and purpose of life because his first love, alcohol. Then, he found the female version of him but who's more eager, talented and can sing his song beautifully with a real feeling. 

Aashiqui is a story of two talented singer who ended up become a couple where one of them used to be famous and the other one is a new rising star.  The media look down at the man on how he brought a poor and talented singer, Arohi from singing in a low class bar with no recognition of her amazing vocal into becoming a famous singer. Rahul's temperaments have always gotten in a way and can't be separated from his first and last love, alcohol. 

Love the simplicity of the movie, the dialogues, the actings and the songs contained powerful feelings. 9/10 is how I rated this movie and this is a kind of movie you would be wanting to watch again and again and most probably you'll be crying at the same scenes although you've seen it many of times. You would be seeing more of the pains of RJ rather than the happy moments he had been thorough but overall, don't miss for not watching it. Although the media doesn't fond of the movie yet the society loves it =)

Movie Review : The Wolverine

The most awaiting movie in my list, couldn't wait to see and not ended in disappointment. I've always love Wolverine and knowing the story of him more personal excites me. I couldn't think anyone except HUGH JACKMAN who would portray wolverine and he have proven that in every X-MEN movies. 8,5/10 is the rank I give because the cinematography is thumbs up, the introductions of the characters and the acting. 

The actions are really good but it should had been less conversations and added more actions. As in fact, from the trailer, everyone would be expecting "full of actions packed and less of dialogues". The actions are really good and so imagined if there are more actions in it, would just be perfect! 

Somehow, they should be more focus more toward wolverine himself rather than other character. I mean, all the excitement is more into saving that Japanese most powerful grand-daughter rather than the wolverine showing off his skills. The fighting scenes should be more thrilling. 

At some parts, you would feel a bit boring but the movie isn't crap nor alright. The movie has a different touch and for the first movie of the wolverine, it's really good. But I'm expecting more actions and more personal like the very first introduction on how he got those steel claws planted in him. And I'm looking forward for the sequels which I'm pretty sure it'll be full of actions and adventures. 

Movie Review : Raanjhanaa

Whether you like Bollywood movies or not, you'll be getting a picture that Bollywood love story is colorful; one moment the movie will make you laugh, then crying. The dancing scenes are often too much, yet if you continue watch the dancing you would ended up liking the songs or at least the village sceneries would blown you away. Expect the unexpected is what this movie staring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor is all about. The movie got a rating of 7.8/19 in IMDB and that's quite high for Bollywood movie. Both of us regretted for not decided to watch the movie in the big screen because this movie would even look more romantic in cinema.

Right from the very first scene until the last, I couldn't get off the smile from my round face. The climax of the movie isn't that wow yet it suits the movie so well. This very simple movie with light dialogue is about a little boy, Kundan, who fall in love at a very young age and never stop loving Zoya eversince. He is quite obsessed with her that he always followed her wherever she goes and tried to get her attentions. They got separated because Zoya's parents against the relationship, so they sent her away and after 8 years, she went back to her village and that's where the story begun.  

I (we) never expected the movie would be this great; really sweet movie and romantic of course. Dhanush is amazing in his first (debut) hindi movie and his dances amazed me (he is so light and very energetic)!. His acting is just like Shahrukh Khan's Tamil version; very expressive! But well, he is not a Bollywood heartthrob but surely, he is a talented actor with bright future in Bollywood!  Yes, the story is just like another bollywood romantic movie but the simplicity in the upbringing the movie is just flawless.  Loving blinded the lover that make those whom falling in love would do anything for the sake to make the ones their love happy even by means have to suffer. 

Overall, I rated 9.5/10 and would like to watch the movie for many times. And now, I understood why those who have seen this movie would said the movie is beautiful and beyond of your expectation! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :) 

Movie Review : D-Day

The first day this movie released in India, we only got great reviews even BIG B really love the movie. We wanted to watch but not that eager but after those positive reviews, we couldn't resisted ourself from watching. My ranking for this movie is 7.5/10 but Mr. Gwumpieh really loves this movie a lot. D-DAY, a story about "indian polices which are somehow be known as Indian terrorists" are an under-cover special force with a mission to arrest the most wanted man in India. The "Goldman" mission is happened at Goldman's son wedding and that's when the story got flashed back. For a person like me with no knowledge of the person of interest's background, then this movie will get you confused for a while. I thought at first, the movie is based on the real story but the truth, the movie is fully modified. 

The actings are superfab! The teamwork between Irrfan Khan and Arjun Rampal is just great and looking forward for a movie where both of them against each other or maybe working together! The duration is a way too long that you may get bored and I was expecting lots of actions. The actions are just ordinary; more like a documentary movie kinds; heavy in upbringing but worth to see. Without those great actors, the movie would definitely be just ordinary or perhaps flopped. 

I like the movie, could even love it if only the movie only around 1,5 hours not almost 3 hours! It's interesting but if only Goldman's role could be shown and how powerful he is, how much chaos he has caused and why it's hard to catch him, rather than a simple narrating in the beginning. The movie could had been awesome if they show Goldman's power in being the number 1 India's most wanted and in extra efforts the previous police had done until the India's ISI had to do this "missions'. Precisely, more details of the story and less of Wali Khan's and Rudra's personal life as well as more packed actions with more introduction of the villain. Thumbs up for the actings :)

Movie Review : The Croods

IMDB  gave 7.4/10 for the Croods while me, personally, would just rated 4/10 and very thankful I didn't watch in the cinema. I wanted to watch and kept nagging for watching it but watching it on DVD is just the best decision! 1 word : BORING and the best thing about movie is only the last 20 minutes. 

The movie is not that entertaining nor kept you awake; quite boring. It is not about the storyline more over on how the story is brought up; not as fun as i was expected them to be. I do love Dreamwork movies but just not this one. 

Movie Review : White House Down

We were so busy with editing (well not me :p) that we forgot we needed some refreshing. And the only movie I haven't watched is " White House Down" and heard the rumor that this movie is really good, even better than Olympus has fallen! For this movie, surprisingly, the trailer didn't attract both of us, so you know, nothing impressive left from the trailer! it's more like "another white house attack's movie" and the only thing we ever recalled are only "Olympus has fallen". But reviewers and my friends said the movie isn't as bad as it look and even a lot better than Olympus has fallen. IMDB gives 6.3/10 for this movie while 6.5/10 for the other ones.

As for us, we agreed with IMDB rank for giving this movie 6/10. As the title says, the movie is all about "white house got under-attacked with the insiders and someone just have to save the president! The funny thing about this movie is that Cale, Channing Tatum, came to White House for an interview to be "president's  guard" yet himself had no idea about White House's building structures! His daughter knows even more than himself, which is well what the hell. Okay, get into the reviewing parts.

Olympus has fallen's actions are far more thrilling! You would completely forgot about checking your phone while watching the movie; it brings more actions than White House Down. As in fact somehow, I feel White House Down is just the lighter and simpler version of Olympus has fallen. It seems they are trying to make the movie better but in my eyes, they failed. The best scene from this movie is the "car chasing"Some part of the movie is a little draggy especially when its reaching the end. So if you like actions movie with less brutality and explosion, this one is the right one for you! If you're planning on going to date, bring her to watch this movie but it's so not gonna work for me! :D!

And OMG Channing Tatum is just too perfect for the whole 2 hours like he only got slight bleeding and the heroic action of the president is just a big no-no! How could President is being portrayed that weak? And the man who had been working in the white house had no idea about the building structures himself? It's quite hmmm, you know what the? =p!! 

I don't say it's really crap but it does worth for the penny but it won't be leaving any "wow" effect, not for me at least unless you haven't seen Olympus has fallen! Seriously, this is just another action movie with the same twist, ordinary acting and actions. If only they had been more aggressive in attacking and all, it would had been good! 

Movie Review : Pacific Rim

First time I saw Pacific Rim's trailer, the word "transformers" just popped up in my head which I'm sure that's what majority may think too. I mean you know Robots, Aliens, Fighting and Saving Human Kinds are happened to be Transformers. But I'm telling you frankly, Pacific Rim isn't like transformers nor even close to it! The trailer was really good but when you watched them, it's like just "alright"! I don't even think this movie is aimed for adult; it's more like for kids from the age of 5 - 12 that would definitely be screaming "awesome" after watching it.

I went out with my mate and I guess Mr. Gwumpieh just made the right decision for skipping although at first he really wanted to go! Such a disappointment but I'm not saying not to watch; more like it's like seeing Power Rangers in action rather than transformers. Whether it's the ordinary actions, very weak storyline and had no idea what the "f" is the creature; quite weird alien looking (It's confirmed aliens!). If you are bored, then go and watch it but, the movie is really too ordinary that personally, DVD in 46"inch TV would just be the best preference for watching it. Both of us got disappointed with the movie and for this kind of movie, 2 hours are just a way too long. I give 5.5/10 but I do love how the robots look like! It's pretty cool but the overall movie is just alright but more into "disappointment"; such a pity! beautiful robots, beautiful settings but crap story, villains and so ordinary actions!

Movie Review : The Lone Ranger

Another day where we wondered what to do and decided to just let's watch a movie although it was quite lovely Tuesday we spent. Sometimes, I felt so good when I didn't need to turn on my laptop for work and had nothing bothers my mind, free! I do have deadlines to catch but somehow, I happened to just slowing it down and try to relax. Of course, I had great weekends, great Monday to start with and had pleasant Tuesday but well, I just hope, I could have some "free" days with no tension :)

Let's do some reviewing! THE LONE RANGER is the latest movie we watched and we got hooked by their trailer. Lower expectations because often when the trailers are awesome, the movie would be just alright or crap. What we love about this movie is on how the director, Gore Verbinski, brought out the sceneries and the cowboy styles like once we used to know back in childhood! The Lone Ranger is light-hearted action movie yet very entertaining and funny. However, the duration is too long. The Lone Ranger is more like Shanghai Noon's type of movie but this one is just the coolest version! I rated this enjoyable movie 7.5/10 as it's worth for the penny and at least he brought the traditional cowboy story like the ones we remembered back in childhood! 

Johnny Deep portrays Tonto excellently although in my opinion, Armie Hammer, John Reid, should be portrayed with someone like Hugh Jackman, Gerald Butler or even Shia LaBeouf would had done it better. And oh, the white horse (silver, he named it) is just awesome and those cowboy scenes made you wanted to ride the horse and just be a cowboy for a day! ha-ha-ha... The actions aren't too brutal, quite light actions.

Some of my friends said The Lone Ranger is not that good or perhaps, when you saw in IMDB, their rating is only around 6. But, personally, I warned you that the movie have very light actions! it keeps you entertain, but it wouldn't made you go "wow". The Lone Ranger is really family movie and fun to watch, at least a good choice to spend some quality time with. And as for us, we enjoyed it, like it, but not too love it, but won't mind to watch it twice sometimes later but not in cinema :)

Movie Review : Despicable Me 2

ha-ha-ha! The adorable Minions! Yes, finally, Despicable Me 2 is out and we got a chance to watch. We saw most of the trailers and were totally loving them so we were just hope the movie would be as funny as the trailers. Overall, I give 8.5/10 for this very entertaining movie that made you laugh most of the time. Minions acted so stupidly but innocent and when they talk with words with have no sense but we were like looking at each other when they mentioned something about "tikka masala" ha-ha-ha!

Without the minions, despicable would just be a super ordinary and boring movie. And the monster minions are so adorable in purple. So light, very entertaining and you could really heard people laughing so loud in most of the scenes! and Agnes's eyes are just so adorable! Totally recommended!

And since MCD is having this Happy Meal with Minions, so I decided to just collect a few only. The Indonesians are so crazy that most of MCD is running out of stocks in less than one week ha-ha-ha!! 

Movie Review : Man of Steel

Yes, finally we watched although we weren't so excited on watching it but why not. I saw few of my friend's statuses said that the movie is just alright so I really have no expectation. Honestly, this movie is a way too long, like super long and I yawned more than 5 times throughout the movie. I don't know how to describe this movie, it is not awesome but not bad as well. The actions are good though but it's just a way too long. I think I'm going to give 6,5/10 but I won't be bother to watch it twice.

Herny Cavill did a good acting and looking very stunning, totally charming and definitely portrays Clarke Kent. Well, personally, I'm Iron Man's and Batman's movie fans and this movie is not even half as awesome as both of those. It's like just watching Spiderman and Captain America's kinds which I'm not a big fan of, And Mr. Gwumpieh also said the same thing to me, the movie is just alright but not awesome. I guess it's just too draggy, too long and it really made you bored although there are lots of actions yet the actions didn't trigger your sleepy eyes nor get your full attentions. 

This is my two cents and I have to agree with most of my friends who said the movie is just "okay, nice but not wow". But of course, amongst others Superman's movie, this one is , indeed, the best ones :)

Movie Reviews

I'm really enjoying the moments where after we work, we pampered ourself although by means we had to spend lots of penny. Although we would ended up "we spent a lot", but I realized it kinda like unleashed the stress inside of you, those tiredness were just gone for some period of time. And in this week, we have watched two movies in a row ; After Earth was yesterday and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 is today. YPD2 is just out in this Friday, so we decided to give it a go but this time bringing our marketing along with us which he seemed to enjoy the movie as it was his first time watched Bollywood movie in cinema. 

I was insisted mr. Gwumpieh to watch this movie yesterday, was just a way too eager and I know lots of people around me were so excited on watching this movie. So there were we, watched the movie right on the first row in the front and 30 minutes passed but there was no change of the movie flow. Will and Jaden teamed up and everyone must be expecting something wow but it will ended with a woe! 

The whole minutes were total flopped, boring and felt it wasn't worth of my 100 minutes. A total waste of money that even watching in DVD isn't worth it and don't let your curiousity kills because it's really horrible! A rating of 1.5/10 and you could see how bored those people who came out from the cinema's auditorium were. Throughout the movie, I was hoping there would be few minutes of highlight in the movie so it won't be that horrible but well, oh well, none! Remember, don't bother to waste your time, everyone else's giving bad reviews too not just me :)

I have always curious on watching this movie, don't know why. Maybe because I really love one of their songs from the previous ones, "Charha De Rang". Both of us were waiting for this movie but not with so much excitement like YJKD! 

Mr. Gwumpieh didn't really like it but me and our marketing were enjoying though. YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA and CINTA MATA KARO words would be repeating in your mind after this movie! For me, I like the movie but not bother to watch for the 2nd time yet still want to watch the first ones. The movie is entertaining although too draggy at the end but, not that horrible. I have no high expectation for this movie but this movie is like how I would had imagined, full of stupidity with no strong storyline, just enough to put a smile in your face for quite some time. I rated 6.5/10 although it is not awesome but, it is not bad. Average but at least Happy made me happy LOL! :)

Movie Review : Hangover, Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani

Maybe I'm one out of several people around me who are not that excited when The Hangover comes but curious enough to know how the ends would be! And Bradley cooper is just a duplicate of Patrick Dempsey and couldn't take my eyes off of him. Overall, I give 5.5/10 for two reasons : 1st, everything is just too over "trying to be silly but its more like eh?", and secondly, it entertains you enough but it doesn't want to make you laugh for long. It's entertaining to see with your mates, kill your time but do lower your expectations. Mr. Chow is not becoming funny anymore and I guess this last sequel is more into action drama comedy kinds , mixed here and there. Funny but not hilarious with lots of "overacting". I guess if you watched them for the first time, you would like it, but if you had been following them, you'd be disappointed. I like the 2nd ones better :)

OMG! the studio in two places were totally full and we were sitting right in the first row! felt like we were just watching 3D! Everyone is so looking forward for this movie that on its first day, this movie had such a grand opening and position even we were waiting for it too! Disappointed? Nope apart from it's quite long 2.5 hours but at least, it didn't get you bored. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is very entertaining movie that will make you keep smiling all the way for the next 2 hours while the last 30 minutes would be "awwww". We rated 7,5/10 for this movie with such a simple storyline and upbringing. Lately, everyone is just trying to make a simple movie to look awesome but not Karan Johar. I don't know what to say except "entertaining" enough from the beginning - the end especially the upbeat songs. 

MOVIE REVIEW : the Last Stand & Race 2

What a movie and it's totally beyond my expectation. I heard about his latest movie, wanted to watch but haven't really pay attention enough towards the trailer. Was randomly checked the cinema's website and found it THE LAST STAND is out already and Grumpy was too eager to watch. I didn't expect anything much toward this movie but I ended up loving it. The movie went quite slow but as it got into the middle where the chasing were more thrilling, the movie becomes quite entertaining. One time movie for me for me but it's not because I didn't like it but its more like I won't be bother watching twice, that's all. I like, love but not favorite, that's how I supposed to describe. I'm sure lots of people are looking forward to watch him back in actions (even i do) but I guess for the "full coming back" welcoming performance, he did great. IMDB gives a high rank for 7.2 and as for me, I give it 8.5/10. Yeah, see, how much I really adore the movie :)

Basically, the LAST STAND is a very simple story about chasing the number one King of drug named Cortez, who got escaped before got transferred to his new prison. His plan is to get into Mexico by building bridge from Summerton Junction. Well, FBI couldn't stopped Cortez with his spectacular car runs in 200MPH until they contacted the local's sheriff at Summerton which of course Sheriff Owens, Arnold Schwarzenegger, in charged. No more telling you, better just watch because this movie has NO twisted story and I don't want to spoil anything.

The movie is really entertaining, full well-packed of actions and of course some jokes in between. I've to say the storyline is quite usual and Forest Whitaker is totally crap in this movie; something is just not right in his performance, moreover he doesn't fit for the role. The actions are thumbs up, totally enjoyed a lot not too brutal I guess (not in my eyes :p)! Some random jokes to lighten the movie done by Luis Guzman. My opinion about Mr. Arnold's performance and that's "Cool Grandpa back in action!" As you know he is quite expressionless but this cool attitude and rough face with not much dialogue is what made this kind of movie suits him. The way he talks and everything is just like when he was at Terminator. I mean no offense but I'm pretty sure you'll be getting the same kind of impression after you see the last few scenes when he fights alone ha-ha-ha-ha! Cool Grandpa with Awesome Actions and Full of Awesome Gun Toys ha-haha-ha!

Movie Review : Hansel and Gretel , Les Miserables, Now is Good

It's great to be able to catch the latest movies especially after the messy flood attacks. We sneaked out in our hectic hours and especially, its been a while since we went for movie date. So yeah, watching two movies in a week is more than enough entertainment for us. Time to concentrate work and rushing them more. We watched these movies in different day but I felt like write everything under one name.

"Look down, look down, don't look them in the eye! Look down, look down, you're here until you die!" a song that you'll heard from the first scene that will definitely take your breath away. It isn't just the song but the expressions, the awesome performances and of course the cinematography too. Finally, we watched Les Misérables and it was such right decision for me but not-so-right for Mr. Gwumpieh. Right from the first scene, the movie has taken my heart and full attentions away. I was actually looking forward to see this movie knowing there are two of my favorite actors : Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe and some others amazing actresses and actors too. I know you would be expecting much more of the movie once you saw the trailer especially "more actions" instead talks but this movie is beyond my expectation. The way they made it and the actors and actresses performances made it perfect! They chose the right people for the right movie which is rare to find nowadays. I ranked them 9.5/10 and I do aware it's musical movie but what I didn't except it's music all-the-way until the end.  Sad enough that lots of people were getting bored when they watched this 3 hours movie and I could heard some of them yawned. Even Mr. Gwumpieh was too bored and acting silly throughout the movie. He likes it but not loves it and definitely not as he expected despite it's awesomely produced. I do expected lots of actions but I couldn't take my eyes off from the screen, it's really grabbed my full attentions.

So we were supposed to watch Jack Reacher but once I saw Hansel and Gretel : The witch Hunter is out, I ditched Jack Reacher. I'm not huge fans of Tom Cruise neither I like his movie apart from Mission Impossible so yeah, let's see my new favorite actor who's totally dashing : Jeremy Renner. The story, I don't need to tell much right? Witch hunter and Hansel and Gretel, we know their tale anyway. So brother and sister becomes the witch hunters ever since they killed a witch for the first time, burnt into fire. Okay, if you see their relationship; it's more like lover instead of brother and sister. Somehow it senses like that in my eyes! Gretel was shown as so powerful woman at first, but later, she seemed to be very weak. The first 20 minutes will made you think this movie is so gonna be awesome but somehow, it's too monotone, bore you at the end. 

Of course for almost an hour I found it cool with unstoppable actions but I know, I won't be loving this movie as much as I wanted to. There's something missing since the first scene and that's the movie's flow is really fast. Super fast, you may called it that made this movie become so ordinary; just another slaughter movies. It have left no impression for me, just really an ordinary movie. I understand the actions, the brutalities and slaughters are the ones they concentrate the most to pump up the viewers' adrenaline but for me, it's more than that. It's really fast in changing scenes and made the movie look quite a mess. IMO, if you aren't too eager, wait until DVD. DVD is enough knowing it's ONE TIME watch movie and buying DVD do more wonder. Overall, It's good but not great and I rated 6.5/10. It's more like ONE time movie only and DVD shall do the wonder I guess. Nothing wow and this is my two cents. The actions are totally good, but the movie has no twist in it nor some highlight scenes. Definitely looking forward for the sequel which I know I'm going to watch though!

Christmas Eve!

Mr. Grumpy was super excited when he knew Dabangg 2 is out already but due to hectic schedule, we couldn't made it until CHRISTMAS EVE! Actually, we were planning for this since Saturday and the truth I forgot! But thank GOD, everyone remembered. Me, Grumpy, Suresh and Era did double date again but this time is with "ice creams", how lovely. Here's my 2c about the movie : "lost the touch of action but entertaining and the genre is more of comedy movie!" I don't say Dabbang 1 is awesome as it's not my kind of movie but I would said Salman did really well in acting and I love on how he portray Chulbul, the typical Indian cop like in every Bollywood movies I see. The 1st one is of course show the "macho" side of Chulbul Pandey which I think it's quite sexy while the 2nd ones is more into showing his "feminine" side. Yeah it's good sequences but D-2 is more like drama and comedy where we see the fun side of him. I'm not sure about the D-3 but I guess, there's a big possibility that the 3rd sequence will be on! My rating for the movie is 6.5/10 because the movie made me laugh and really entertaining. But not as all of us expected to be. It's good but not awesome like how others reviewed it. Me and Grumpy expected more into actions with touch of comedy not fully drama! The songs are more reckless and funny and I enjoyed the songs especially that Fevicol Se - ha-ha-ha-ha  :") 

DONE with the movie and had no idea what to do so we decided to just shop a bit at Food Hall buying chocolates. We were in the state of "not hungry yet but later at night we'll be", so I decided to just let's go for dinner. Sadly, Grumpy didn't want to eat, something wrong with his tummy! We had food at Pizza Marzano and pardon me for the crap photos! We ordered two pizzas, two dough balls and totally yummy meatballs! I tried their new pizza but I forgot the name "Sloppy something" and it's awesome! I wish Grumpy could had tried them even for a bit because I know he gonna loves it! The only thing that Pizza Marazano has always failed me is their "service"- super slow. We were waiting more than 15 minutes for our drink and around 30 minutes or so for the pizzas! Of course, their pizzas are yummy but still, 30 minutes +++ for waiting is just too much, isn't it? :)

Yeah, awesome Christmas Eve I had today! Mr. Santa gave us present too and we were super joyed! Even though my two eyes are still infected, but thank GOD, I could did my work. I always become this wonder-woman whenever I'm working and holding my hubby. The pains are bothering a lot but I forgot the pains, just working, working and working. I know I'm workaholic but thank you so much LORD for given me the strength to finish my work off. Working from morning, continued with beautiful sweet romantic pizza dating with Mr Grumpy at lunch, then ended with movie date and pizza dinner with the best ones. Heaven's blessed and thank you so much LORD! Looking forward for tomorrow's Christmas Lunch with the girls. Work - Dating - Hang out - Working is what I love!

JAB TAK HAI JAAN

JAB TAK HAI JAAN  is finally out today and was so overjoyed that we watched it on the first day. Amazingly, when we were on the way, mom called me and said "are you going to watch Jab Tak Hai Jaan?". Ha! she still knows my "burning love" for Shahrukh, the King of Bollywood. Funny incident happened - me, grumpy and rini were planning to watch 19.30pm show but when Grumpy checked the cinema's website, they didn't have it instead 17.45 pm show. It was already 5pm ish and both of us were in a rush to get there and the road was smooth until it was only 5 minutes away from the mall. We arrived at 6PM at Grand Indonesia and had to wait for like more than 7 minutes for the lift - reached at 6.15PM at Blitz. 

We were in lining in the queue and Grumpy decided not to watch. Both of us were frown and I was just so pissed off (my face shows it all) .  I was just looking at the TV screen and I saw " 19.30pm" show was playing, so we were just overjoyed and right away queue. Thank GOD I saw and finally we watched the movie so eagerly.

It was just freaking so long (3 hours) and at some part, it got into really super boring. This is how the movie sequences in my eyes from the beginning - the end : wow, joyful, boring, sad, fun loving, boring, boring and oh dear! See, what a complex feeling this movie gave from wow - happy, from sad - boring! Honestly, I'm not sure how do I rank the movie, it's crap but not too crapy, awesome but that's because I'm head-over-heels toward him. I guess, it's more like "alright, not too bad, but don't expect something"- 6/10.

I think I feel more of "disappointment" rather than loving it. I like but not those kind of "strong like"  some parts of the movie is really boring, too exaggerated & its just "doh". And after I rethink again now, i found the movie as really messy. See, it doesn't create any "strong feeling" as we know that most of SRK movies will either put smile on your face or dropped tears that last quite long. JAB TAK HAI JAAN gives none, at least it has no impression in me except how dashing he is when he became the mayor!

From Acting points-of-view : Shahrukh of being Samar is too ordinary and whether the way he laugh, the way he talks or the rest of body gestures, those are being made-up too much. His acting is rather crap in this one except when he becomes Mayor, that's when we admired him the most. Overall, i love the poetic conversation in between. As the story is good but it isnt made beautifully.

I know I gave such a crap review to this last movie from Yash Chopra but this is my honest opinion :)

Movie Review : Looper

Looper, a movie that made me curious to watch and rumor said it's good. So I stole my time away from exhibition to watch a movie since it's Thursday and definitely no traffic in the booth. At first, Grumpy didn't want it but well, I made it and gosh, it's actually 2 hours movie. Went out from the studio and was like? "time flew too fast!" 21.30 already time to pack and go home (wuooohoo)

IMDB rated : 8.1/10 and I gotta agree but my version is more into 9.5/10 and you must be wondering why I gave such a good rate. First of all, this movie is brilliantly made. The way they back and forth, the riddles, the actions, and each scene make you just wondering 'what's next, what's next". The first 15 minutes quite boring, but do get through it and you are so going to find the beauty of this movie. The story is so simple but with lack of creativity and imaginative minds, this movie would just be an OK only and even flopped. The actings are superb and I really love this kinds of movie! simple but the way they bring up the story is full of imaginations. So yeah, it includes inception - movie that made me go ga-ga-ga whenever I watched them.

I'm not sure whether the Indonesian market like it but for me, I love it. Even Grumpy doesn't like it, too complicated as a movie. I think that's where the beauty - making simple things in complicated ways but ended it beautifully.

*** The whole day (1st day of exhibition) : basically, i did nothing but working, working , working and working until my fingers are so sore. I spent like 6 hours or more at Lada Merah but thank GOD, I got the sofa seat! 

Movie Review : Taken 2

We sneaked out from our hectic schedule and decided to just "pamper ourself" - movie, saloon and hanging out. Goodness me, it's such a relief on taking one day off to just be lazy bees. The movie, we kept wanting to watch : TAKEN 2 - Hello Liam Neeson!

I remember the first time i watched Taken 1 where the movie wasn't really be favorites until it got released at DVD and people adored this low-budget movie even i did too. At least it wasn't that "happening" back in the cinema, more like, people wasn't bother to watch. Just like other, I brought the dvd and couldn't kept my eyes away from this awesome, simple that full of actions but made in low-budget. I knew there would be a sequel but I didn't know what would the story be, just got a feeling it would have a sequel.

My rate for this movie is 8,5/10 - or maybe should I give it 9,5? It's really entertaining, didn't make you bored even for a second and make you want to watch it again for the 2nd time. At least, that's the feeling got into me after I finished the movie. The simplicity, the emotions and very simple actions in that movie make me rated that high. Okay! everyone knows how this movie going to end, at the first time you see - a happy ending but who ever thought the way they bring up this movie would be that wow.  IMDB gives 6,8 for the rating but the movie was in the top line for few weeks even at its first opening day.  Basically it's a story about a daughter whose parents got kidnapped and now it's her turn to find them. But you know its just no comment, loving this :-)

There are bunch of movies I want to watch but time isn't at our side at the moment : Premium Rush, looper, Heroine, English Vinglish and a lot more of upcoming movies. So yeah, we were having such a relaxing day and it's great though and btw, my BB is officially died on me, which gosh, finally I can take my hands off from BB for almost a month ha-ha-ha-ha =D!
