Halloween Exhibition

Basically, this is what occupied me a lot apart from being busy with editing photos nowadays. I just realized that almost every month we are actually doing exhibition. Next month, we'll also be doing another one but not on December which is enough i guess. Exhibition requires lots of extra energy especially when you are on tight deadlines, it's quite killing though but of course, praised HIM for the chance being given and all were done nicely at the very last minute :-)

The same place for exhibition but this time is with Halloween Theme. I didn't take bunch of photos today and since it will just be for 4 days exhibition, so we decided to just minimize the budget and save it for the other exhibition. But I know Peekaboo never going to fail us in decorations and we trusted them all the ways to decorate.

For the poster, it's being made by this talented creative people from Witcreative. Anyway, I love our icons and it's just beautifully made and can't wait to see what the next 4 days at exhibitions lesson would be. And here is the sneak-peek of our booth, feel like the carousel is just ours anyway. I bring my Stitch and Doraemon which pretty much loved by the kids and fit the theme (hey, an extra props would do, right? :D!)

And above all, look how adorable I'm with Halloween costume :D

32 Days Exhibition : Day 21

It's self-portrait and I took it with NEX-7
03.09.2012 is a special day for us! Happy 15th month-anniversary Mr. Grumpy and time flies so quick that we are in our 15th month today. In this special day, me, grumpy and mom also travelled together again and seriously, the LORD is kind! I know mom is getting comfortable being with him around :-)

And there's something different at the mall too - i felt like living outside of Indonesia rather its like I'm in some small Arab country LOL! So many Arabs families came at our floor and I could felt like I'm a part of them LOL! not sure why its on Monday but funny anyway , it's more like they were attacking the kids' areas :p

Nothing much we did in the anniversary knowing we are doing exhibition at the moment. This is like the whatever month where we are working at our Anniversary! But don't tell anyone, we did have some moment together too like out for dinner. we had few choices of restaurant but we had been to those places. For this 15th, we chose "playground"  at EX as our dinner date, romantic place, reasonable price and ordinary food (like always :p)

I like on how they designed the menu and I kept wondering which drink shall I chose! I have so much in option but had no idea why ended up with "Lychee Ice-Tea", it really have become an addiction for me lately and so does Grumpy (glad he likes it). He decided to have a bottle of Heineken and I should had ordered too for a toss but had no idea why, I just had no mood to drink beer although I had a sip :p

The shoots I'm proudly to present as it's self-portrait and taken from the window, our magical hands together :D! I really love these photos as it's quite classy in a way; dreamy, romantic, it's felt like I'm so not in Indonesia!
The food came a bit long but since we were just overjoyed by its surroundings, then let's just forget about how long we had to wait for it :p! Grumpy ordered Spicy Mac & Cheese while I ordered their favorite menus with the name I've no idea what! Basically it's creamy spaghetti with Chicken Katsu and Omelet. The food is alright but the taste has nothing special to offer and the price is just alright, a bit pricy but knowing they give a big portion then it's alright. It's sad that the place is awesomely romantic but the taste is just alright. I don't know what to say but the taste is monotone (no dominant taste), you can get sick by eating those one portion by your own. While for the desert, its too pricy!

This is what Grumpy look like when we were waiting for the bill and i wish he knew how dashing he looks today :p!

Happy anniversary Mr Grumpy and it have been a wonderful 15 months journey and each day has always ended with a big smile in our faces even we had a fight like cat and dog! We are have a lot of differences that small little things matter for us, but we know we have each other back through ups and downs in life. my life has become so much better, so much happier, luckier and wealthier ever since the day we are officially together). it is hard to adjust & accept each other weaknesses but the key of "willingness to learn, understand and compromise" is what have made together today. Thank you Better half, Mr. Grumpy, my honey bunny cupcake, pumpkin and all the sweet things he-he-he-he!

The lesson i learn today : take care of the best people the LORD have given to you! they are the most imperfect , perhaps the most annoying people next to you, but they are the ones who are not going to leave you when you are in the darkest moments and always trying their best to cheer you up even by doing silly things that may harmed themselves. It takes so much efforts and time to understand them, to still be next to them when they are cranky but these people are worth for your love, time, patience and efforts. It's just take a lot of extra observation to know that they are the best. Often in time, you want to leave them, but there's something holding you back from doing so, the heart just know they are the best although the mind gets so annoyed by them, true?

The LORD gives them to you as HE also gives you to them to take care but for HOW LONG you can keep them next to you or how long they want to keep you is depending on your efforts/ their willingness. It takes two to tango in every relationship whether its "lover, best friend, sisterhood, brotherhood, even in family" :-)

32 Days Exhibition : Day 20

To be given an opportunity to capture a family "private event" made me and grumpy felt so honored and blessed. Freezing this important moment in their life where they only shared with the special ones had made us felt so honored. Thank you so much for the opportunity given to us Ms and the warmness of those few hours made us felt so homey. Anyway, since its their private event neither I wanted to ruin everything, I decided to just give random post for a quick look :-)

32 Days Exhibition : Day 19

So today, we bid goodbye to our vintage photo-booth and totally we changed the display into more gallery kinds. Poor Mr. Grumpy who had to stay up in the morning (until 4 am) to fix the things and its made me felt so guilty. He sent met this long message in the morning and said "be careful & not to be shocked with the new look". I also sent the message to Ferdinand too and when both of us got there at the same time, we opened the white curtain slowly , slowly and I squeezed his arms! I was in total shocked, me and Ferdinand had no words to say but I knew inside of us the first word came out in our brain is " W T F  " . But we ignored, continued to clean the rest of the messes He made.

We were in a big disappointment with this new vendor and for what its offered, we could made it in 3/4 from the price they offered but anyway, I tried to look the positive sides. We tidy the chair, table and everything and made it look nicer of course. This is how it looks now (somehow)

Oh! today my mom is being the most adorable woman on earth as she brought food for three of us! we were starving while waiting for my driver to come and bring our lunch. 3 of us were just too lazy to do anything, seriously hungry! In this Saturday, the traffic is slow, quite unusual though. But Praised the LORD for HIS GRACE, we got some interested clients and got someone who made a deal too. Slow traffic but great income and may our schedules will be totally full until the end of the year :-)

And we had cheap but awesome food outside of the mall and the Satay is just too good that each of us ordered 10 sticks with NO sharing! Noodle with meatballs and satays are our dinner menu and gosh, cheap and best (but not the burping at night :p)

There's a " client" who came over the booth (I'm sure its a price-checker) and at first she was asking normal thing but afterwards she asked too much details. The funny thing is that she asked "what camera are you using"?, but the way she asked those questions are with high curiosity. Anyway, I'm able to turn her down ha-ha-ha-ha! I told her : I'm using 5D MKII, however, lately, we are using digital camera, NEX-7 and her face from being eager to just "eh?" ha-ha-ha!

She is more like being sent by her closest friend or husband to ask stuff about us, our price list, our gears because if she does know about photography, then she shouldn't be amazed by the quality NEX-7 produces anyway. I know there are bunch of price-checkers around and often its' a friend's sent them and we do know which one is price-checkers. and YES, we differentiate the way we greet, explain and respond to the price-checkers. I'm sure other photography vendor does it too :-)

I don't know what i learn about today from exhibition apart from well, if you, as a price checker being told by your friends/husband to check about other photography services in details, say NO! unless they are coming along with you. Why? because we know and please, stop checking people's price, everyone has their own "price-value" on how they want to be valued and on how they want others to value them. I have no problem when this price checkers check in weekdays but in the weekends, it's really just annoying because a lot of time, the traffic is too hectic and you know its just a waste :)

32 Days Exhibition : Day 18

OH NO! tomorrow we are going to change into new theme, and well, we are not yet getting things we wanted. Somehow we did, but let's see how the new vendor does their magic into our 3 x 3 m booth and the height has to be below 150cm! so let's see how it goes tonight. This time, the theme will be vintage and kiddish, hope her imagination matches Grumpy's knowing I've no sense of art :D! I'm not born naturally as an artistic person but I'm learning :')

It's such a PERFECT Friday for us although we were rushing through deadlines.  We were going in two different directions and thanks to my friend, Mega, who came over right away after she finished her work and eventually, drove me to my printing place and waited for a while there too , thank you so much! Everything is all about getting things done properly to make sure the gallery runs well.

While me , mega and dede was laughing in the booth, out of no where, my cousin whom i called bro, came with his secretary. I was like "OMG", I'm amazed. I got a feeling that he would had come today and i was right lol , he came. I was exaggerating the conversation, made it long so that grumpy would came and met him. I thought I delivered my message but i forgot to press the "send" button! but I guess, what meant to happen, it'll happen. And before my bro went, Mr. Grumpy came and finally they met for the first time and had some conversation on going which I had no idea what lol - men talks :'-)

Then, while both of them were talking, local celebrity family came and he introduces us to them which made us flattered. Praised the LORD for this awesome moment and yeah Grumpy and dede took pictures with them too *they were too eager & i was holding on to my pride, but seriously I wanted but not feeling comfortable because they were really (super) excited LOL!

It was another fun day and three of us went for dinner left mega in the booth. thank you so much dear, for took care of our booth for an hour. It's great to actually go for food together as a team and the menu is still the same "Noodles with Meatballs and Satay!" The satay is totally awesome, too delicious!

Today's lesson at the booth : bring your friend to entertain you and be silly lol

32 Days Exhibition : Day 17

Today is Grumpy's time to take care the booth by himself throughout most of the day since I stuck in the printing company for hours. I came like the sales guy told me too but not long afterwards, he said he had to go for lunch, so I decided to just go for lunch too. I had my lunch at "Soto Pak Saidi" nearby the area and it's sucks! Me and friends used to eat in here back in university time but the ones at the main branch taste better and cheaper too.

Nothing much to tell about in today's exhibition since most of time I'm not around & I spent the rest of the time writing the previous journal only :D! Sometimes in a life, we just happen NOT to learn anything :-)

32 Days Exhibition : Day 8

It becomes a habit that I started my morning drinking Grumpy's yummiest milk tea and it did make me happy - totally brighten my day. After one week, I can feel that the body is just breaking slowly, starting with the random flu and constantly needing more hours to sleep! Goodness me, bunch of people came again to my booth and they were asking how much our furniture costs which its get into my nerves a lot! feel like just putting the "NO-SALE" sign in the chair but I guess, it's quite rude, hey? I mean there's a "photo booth" sign yet people kept pushing us to sell. I wonder, how much great money can we get from selling the furniture instead of the photo-booth? ha-ha-ha-ha! Great job to the decorators, love on how they chose the vintage classy kinds but not really for what its offers. I feel it's better to just buy them rather than to pay for the rent as the price wont be that much different (we predicted =p)

As, I also park my car all the time almost the same place where our entrance is actually get out from Ten-Ten, restaurant, I decided to try. Out of big curiosity, I'm somehow regretting it. I ordered "Chicken Katsu with Curry" and oh deary dear - in a big disappointment that their curry is actually using "powder" rather than spice and call me mean but  I wrote in their comment box that DO NOT use Curry powder or else the taste would be great. I don't know why am I being too picky for food.

Anyway I knew today is just going to be a perfect day as even before we were fully opened our stands, there is this kind lady and friendly man who were asking about the photo-booth and that's how the day started with a big smile in our faces! And the rest of the day is an epic, friends and potential clients are endless kept coming to our booth until 9 pm and we were happy but exhausted.

Throughout the whole day, I kept listening to the same old song and it's called "Home" from Philip Philips, the American Idol's winner and totally in love. I do listen to it a lot but after I turned it so loud in my headset for the first time, I ended up loving it! And guess what make me in love with it even more? As I'm listening to this song, I'm seeing his grumpy face and feeling so blessed to have him around.

While I was writing this blog, I remembered something generous I did few days before EID and that was charity. There's this rubbish picker family in my area whom I adored. You can see how happy they are together, even the kids have to sleep in the cart while the parents in the street. Often, I saw one of the kids were studying inside of the cart while the parents pushing it! It touches my heart and indeed, they deserve every penny I gave to them. And the "chuckles" of their kids kept running in my mind whenever I remembered them. So I gave the money to the father around 11 pm and after he opened, the kids saw and they were overjoyed. I even feel like capturing their family photo now and print it; how wonderful it would be.

The lesson I learnt today : there are many moments when the LORD make your day is just PERFECT and this kind of day is the moment where you need to share your love and joy even more. Remembering what I had to go through yesterday with that client, I'm sure today is HIS rewards toward me being a good girl.

32 Days Exhibition : Day 7

When I wrote the number "7", i thought i was dreaming (sarcastic way of saying :p)! OMG, I thought we had been around for 2 weeks or even more knowing some days went very slow. Anyway, the mall is opened and  i decided to drive. My sweetest Mr. Grumpy made me his secret tea recipe and goodness me, i wish he knew how happy i was! i really love his tea and really drinking tea in the morning is what I love to do before going to work. I'm not a coffee lover, not that I don't like it , I do enjoy drinking it, but coffee never was in my 1st choice of beverage even my body is freezing. The rumor says drinking coffee makes you awake all night but even i drank them at night, I still able to sleep like usual LOL! Oh, I'm a fast sleeper, leave me for 5 minutes and often, in less than 5 minutes, you can hear me singing some sexy tunes ;)

I spent my whole time today, sitting in front of the laptop, sent email, edited photos rather greeting clients and i found a lot of joy in doing so! It felt good and proud of him that nowadays, he plays a role as marketing rather than owner and the way he pursue the people have changed into a lot friendlier ways. It's good for his big improvement and i can rely on him as marketing now. Previously, he acted too "snob" as a marketing, the way he presented himself, the way he talked sound really too proudy and its such a turn off. I know, he shows people how confidence he is but often, he forgets that people like "soft approaching". At least with the Indonesians, you can not just be so over-confident.

One experience I never forgotten as marketing happened today. Have you ever been in a mall, for the same place, doing an exhibition with 3 different music playing? This is what happened with us, there's a loud music comes from Kids station, one comes from the carousel, and the management also playing the music too and often its hard to concentrate. The traffic is heavily noisy, the train noises, 3 different music is playing (+ I'm also using headset to divert my mind), kids screaming and a client came. So she came to our booth and I swore I heard she said " photo-booth", instead "photo book". Isn't photo book called album and how many people called Album as photo-book ? So I explained her about the photo-booth and she was actually angry with me and yelled "BOOK" not booth but not in a proper way. Instead of smiling and accepting my apology, she was yelling at me even more as if we were having exhibition at the market while I kept apologizing.

Then she asked me "how long this paper last for?" I said "around 1 or 2 years or even more", then she said "EXACTLY when", I said  "I don't know much about paper, let me give to my fiance for more details". Honestly, how can we know "HOW LONG EXACTLY" the album last for because it's all depending on how she takes care of the albums, right? The truth, I'm pissed, it hurts, I wanted to yell to her but I decided to just continue what I'm doing (sending mail) and I'm glad I did that.

This is my worst experience as a marketing so far but I thank the LORD that I could controlled my anger knowing I'm very short-temper person. Today, bunch of friends came also and we felt so honored - they were constantly kept coming to our booth for quick greeting and some brought us food too! We really felt so much love from so many unexpected lovely people even family too. The LORD is glorious.

I'm not sure what I learnt about today apart from had bad experience, but apart from that, today's life is great! Fully busy with works (emails), serving clients, shared lots of laughter with friends , and the most our friends give their warmest blessings toward us! Thank you so much and the best tips to have a great day is to FORGET the bad and REMEMBER the goods!

32 Days Exhibition : Day 6

Finally, EID has arrived as well as my brother from different mother's birthday too today, so yes, today is such an awesome day for me and grumpy! Personally, i wish i could had done more, and I swore i wish i cooked for him in this EID but he said no, so instead we decided to celebrate EID and birthday party together and it was a couple date but perfect date! Anyway, I'm so sorry Grumpy that I couldn't got you anything neither knew what to do/cook but I think he also had a good day too! Grumpy did go to Mesjid Istiqal (the biggest Mesjid and most happening in Jakarta) early in the morning and I really am happy for him! He was excited the past few days wanted to just look "perfect" in his 1st EID but I knew, how much he missed his family too. A though decision he made and next year, we shall celebrate them together with the family :)

I thought the road would be so empty like it previous years, but i guess, I got it wrong! it was a bit traffic as in fact. We roamed around here and there, was supposed to bring him to eat at Senayan but I'm very smart lady as I spent time more in the road taking wrong turns and still very proud of it. Passed through SCBD, Central Business District area and I have always curious about this beautiful Mesjid but never see the entrance so we decided to ask how to get there. Quite embarrassed but both of us wanted to see and we were like "is it for public?" because it is inside of the POLICE OFFICE, but since Mr. Grumpy gave his grumpiest face then I've to show my sweetest smile to the police officers too ha-ha-ha-ha.

Thank the LORD and those polices, who let us captured this beautiful Mesjid inside of the central police office. Check out the photos which I took and I think we were just very lucky to be given the chance to get inside of this beautiful Mesjid. And I took these photos using NEX-7 and I've been using it a lot, nowadays, as in fact, I forgot on how to use my 5DMKII, it's like I'm finding a new joy by using NEX-7 and of course this one I'm messing around by using MANUAL which I barely do nowadays ha-ha-ha-ha!!

Here is just the awesome double date session and photos I took in this beautiful day. And there was NO work today since the mall is closed. However, I did get a lesson today that " the best thing to do when you have free time from work is to hang out with your friends and FORGET work!" Refresh your mind and spend some great quality time with the best people. Your best people worth for your time, right? and even just hang out with your friends for a quick chit-chat will be such a great refreshing! That is what happened with both of us today, we were so excited and exhausted by just having fun!

Thank you so much LORD for such an awesome day I had today ; exhausted with overloaded fun! It had been forever since the last time we had such a relaxing day ever and tomorrow and until the 16th, we are so ready for work. Thank you Suresh and Era for such a wonderful day and great food. Our best wishes for you, bro, and we are looking forward for the wedding bell. And me and grumpy really loves this picture of us, a lot!
